  • The most? Andrea Moda. Almost kidding, but actually this team was pretty special, but not in a good way. See, what team would send their driver out on wet tires into a bone dry qualifying on purpose?

  • Great summary! I would suggest to create a similar video of legendary, but already closed F1 teams, like the original Lotus, Arrows, Hesketh, Ligier, Maserati, Brabham. These were GP winners and their history is interesting.

  • I loved when Brawn GP came in with almost blank cars, beat everyone else, won a championship, then sold the team in one season. One and done.

  • Great video and on with the interesting f1 history. I have one question, Renault was partner with Williams in 1990s. I think that is part of the history of this team or McLaren-Mercedes is a part of history for Mercedes

  • Actually Racing Point is technically a completely separated new team. Race point did not brought the team but just the assets (team members, cars, staff).

  • Just for the sake of completeness, worth noting that Williams' history is a fair bit more complex if you go back to their first effort in the late 1960s (Frank Williams Racing Cars, as opposed to the team that exists now, Williams Grand Prix Engineering). Frank Williams bought cars from other constructors and ran them for a while until he started making his own, but these took the names of sponsors, such as Politoys and Iso-Marlboro. Eventually the Canadian millionaire Walter Wolf wanted to buy his way into F1 and so bought Williams out, resulting in a team called Wolf-Williams, keeping Frank Williams on to run it - but Williams didn't want that, so quit. Wolf-Williams became plain Wolf and Williams set up Williams Grand Prix Engineering in 1977, initially running an old March but making his own cars from 1978.

  • How Lola, with all the success they have had in most other forms of motorsport (especially Indycar), did a prime example of how not do it when running an F1 team in 1997. Not only was the car miles off the pace (11 and 12 seconds off pole in Australia 1997) but they were also millions of pounds in debt before the season even started and bowed to pressure from MasterCard to enter the sport in 1997, rather than build a car for 1998, taking their time to make the best use of the revolutionary new regulations for that year
