  • Hello there, I currently own a Samsung 49 inch KS8000 (European 7000 model). And I'm looking to upgrade to a 65 inch model. Now I've narrowed it down to two options, I can either get a 65 inch KS8000 for about 1700 euro, or pay 2500 for the new Q7 65 inch (2018 model) which you have recently reviewed. The Q7 has a wide color gamut and slightly better brightness and it supports more HDR formats. What do you guys think? Should I spend the extra 800 euro for the new Q7 or try to cut a deal on a 65 inch model of my current t.v. and get it in the 1500-1700 range? Thanks in advance!

  • Cedric --- Have you ever reviewed and done any analysis on the Panasonic DX900 and tried to compare it to the Z9D..? Other than the Sony being more brighter given the higher NIT level, the number of zones for the FALD I think are the same but I'm more curious about the motion on each...Thanks...Tony

  • Cedric - i have one important question, none of the TV reviews online tell anything about lip sync problem wherein Video is played before the Audio irrespective whatever sound settings you change on your TV. I feel like i just wasted a large amount of my savings by buying a hefty 55inch Samsung KS8500 series. I thought this issue is only with Samsung, but i discovered it is prominent on all TVs having 4k including SOny, LG, Phillips etc. ----- my humble request, please have one dedicated video on discussing the lip sync issue and possible ways to mitigate it across various models.

  • UPDATE 7/26/17: Vizio has released firmware update 3.2.13.3MG215 Which returns all the apps to the main menu and lots of improvements to the new Models Release Notes: Adds an On Screen Menu to the display. Allows you to complete setup using a VIZIO remote (without downloading the VIZIO SmartCast Application). General stability and PQ improvements across the system Just received the 2017 P55-E1 today, only watched a few YT 4k HDR videos today, but I can honestly say, this is the best IPS panel I have ever seen period! The blacks are amazing for IPS and the colors pop! And absolutely NO blooming at all from the led array, amazing! The Roku Ultra will be arriving tomorrow since I have not yet decided on a BR player yet (recommendations wanted!), will update after I watch some more 4k content in HDR. Only con so far is no Amazon Video in Smartcast, but I knew this going in. Update: After having this new model for a week now I can say I am extremely pleased with the purchase. One issue I have had that was easily fixed was the buggy-ness of the Vizio Smartcast App. Solution: simple DO NOT USE IT! It is not needed since you can cast all of your favorite apps. without it, Once the display is paired to your device ( I use an iPhone) you can simple cast your programs directly from the apps. (Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, etc) with no need to use Smartcast. It seems to just be a skin the runs the other apps anyway. As soon as I removed it from the iPhone everything worked great! Watching Kong: Skull Island and FF8 in Dolby Vision using the Vudu app was an amazing experience! I have not had a nits measurement done on this panel (ips) but I would have to think it is close to about 4000 at least, and DV is displayed amazingly! Anyone in the market for a 55 inch UHD display should check this one out, I got mine for $950 on sale directly from Vizio within 3 days of purchase and have no other issues at all. As soon as I get my new computer build finished I plan to try it out on a few games and even using it as a primary monitor in the future.

  • Is the 62.9 ms pc figure for 4k @ 60Hz outside game mode? (27.8 when using console input). Do you know the figure for HDR game mode in the pc input? Thx in advance!

    Jonas LarssonJonas LarssonVor year
    • So it does not matter whether you use game mode when using the pc input, you still get 62.9 ms if I understand you correctly? LG oleds allow HDR when using the pc input as long as you use RGB, 4:2:0 or 4:2:2. That is why I also asked you about HDR game mode. But I understand if you do not know the number in ms in HDR game mode

      Jonas LarssonJonas LarssonVor year
    • 62.9 ms is with the input set to PC. Currently, LG doesn't support HDR and PC input at the same time (or at least, not when displaying 4:4:4).

  • what pc settings do i need to do to achieve 4k 60hz HDR? can you post of screen shots of your PC settings? im not sure what settings you are using to define each of these: 4k @ 60Hz : 34.1 ms 4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 : 34.1 ms 4k @ 60Hz + HDR : 34.1 ms 4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 + HDR : N/A i have a C6P (thanks for your help narrowing down my choice). and i have a Nvidia 980ti. but i cant seem to get the HDR logo to pop up on the tv. in the nvidia control panel, there are a few settings i am curious about: Output color depth Output color format Output dynamic range if i do RGB, then i can only do 8 bit, but the range can be set to full. if i do YCBcr444 then my depth can only do 8 bit and my range is limited. what do i need to do to achieve 4k 60hz HDR?

  • could you do the ks9800 before super bowl weekend? since thats when the sales will be happening. im really stuck between the c6/e6 or ks9800. i am coming from a 2014 Vizio P65. and I will be using it solely with a PC (gaming, movies, tv, browsing all through the PC, with amazon prime tv app rarely). the c/e6 seem great. except the possibility of image burn (the taskbar or icons), and the higher input lag. though i think since the update the lag might not be that big of a con. as of now, i will pretty much get whatever is cheapest around that time. i have definitely been doing a lot of research and your videos/articles have been the most helpful. i just cant decide on what would be best for me. all i know is i want OLED or a FALD display.
